About Me

 

     I have incorporated Montessori, Pikler®, and RIE® philosophies into the care that I provide to children in both the childcare setting, and also when caring for my own 3 children.  I have been trained in RIE®  Foundations:  Theory and Observation™ and  often follow Magda Gerber's approach to infant care. I am familiar with infant and toddler's gross and fine motor development, social and emotional developmental needs, and the importance of uninterrupted play.

 I offer my services to consult with new parents as well as those seasoned parents that may need some new strategies for dealing with challenges that as we all know often occur in parenting.  I am able to design age appropriate, safe environments for children to explore, and have numerous years of experience planning responsive curriculum for children ages birth-12.  I have had the pleasure of working with infants and toddlers, in group care, and in the Montessori classroom for 11 years combined.  I have also been fortunate to work with families in their private homes as a nanny for almost 9 years.  It has been both an honor, and privilege to work with families in many different settings for over 20 years.  

 

     That being said, I feel it is just as important to help parents both new and old manage and navigate issues that often come up in parenting; while maintaining ones sanity and good humor in stressful situations.  It is my new mission to share my experience and training with the families in my community, as well as those who may need my assistance via the internet.  My husband and I currently reside in Texas with our 16 year old daughter, 8 year old son, 6 year old daughter and our two beloved English Bulldogs.
